Cats Safe at Home is a collaborative effort to humanely reduce outdoor cats and engage our community with ideas and information that value cats and wildlife.
The 2024 catio tour!
REGISTER TODAY! The 12th Annual Catio Tour is Saturday, September 7 from 10am-2pm. This year’s Catio Tour is self-guided and all in-person, with stops from SE Portland to Vancouver, WA.
See a variety of catios, including one stop featuring fencing around the yard and another with portable options, talk with the people who built them, and meet the cats who enjoy them (feline attitude permitting).
Get Involved
Cat overpopulation in the Portland metro area can be reduced, and we can do it with your help! The first thing all cat owners and caregivers can do is spay/neuter their cats. Next, find alternatives to letting your cat roam unsupervised.
Why it Matters
Every cat deserves a safe home where they are loved, cared for, and kept free from hazards, yet tens of thousands of stray and feral cats roam our urban landscape, vulnerable to a variety of risks. They are also preying on our native habitat. We seek to address the challenges of cat overpopulation in a way that is both humane and environmentally responsible.
