Catio 4: Rescue Retreat | Efficient Use of Space

Of their five cats, two of them were part of a feral colony in Scappoose, Oregon and were spayed at the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon. Now that Kristina and Brett are retired, they wanted to give all of their cats a safe place to romp and rest outside. For years they had planned on building a catio, but it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that they were able to have the time to complete this wonderful catio that makes excellent use of their space. The cats who had previously been kept indoors (despite the antics of two deft escape artists) are now more relaxed and able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine at their leisure.

The Catio Tour is part of the Cats Safe at Home campaign, which seeks to reduce the number of cats living outdoors in the Portland metropolitan area in a humane and environmentally responsible manner. We believe that every cat deserves a safe home where they are loved, cared for, and kept free from hazards. The Catio Tour was created to offer inspiration for those looking for ways for their cats to have safe outdoor time. We hope you enjoy this year’s Catio Tour!
