Catio 7: Adventure Alley | Efficient Use of Space, Catwalk

Architectural and modern design converge with elegant practicality in Dawna and Karen’s catio. Window boxes allow for entry points, as well as places where they can interact with their three cats from indoors. An inclined tunnel ramp connects the window boxes that then lead into a cross-yard catwalk. The cats can hang out in any of the boxes and tunnels or find their way into the main structure that offers multiple levels of shelving created from repurposed bamboo counter tops and flooring composed of concrete pavers with sisal carpet samples for scratching and rubbing to their hearts content!

The Catio Tour is part of the Cats Safe at Home campaign, which seeks to reduce the number of cats living outdoors in the Portland metropolitan area in a humane and environmentally responsible manner. We believe that every cat deserves a safe home where they are loved, cared for, and kept free from hazards. The Catio Tour was created to offer inspiration for those looking for ways for their cats to have safe outdoor time. We hope you enjoy this year’s Catio Tour!
